Chapter 1063: Meg’s Infallible Plan - True Origami!

Meg’s heart pounded in her chest.

She had truly thought that she had outsmarted a 12th Floor Contestant.

It all had begun with Kai assigning her the Main Mission of retrieving Herpo the Foul’s Horcrux from the Forest Vault.

There was no doubt that she had zero chance of completing the Mission.

If it had been before, when the timeline’s Overall Grade had been limited to C+, just as in the case of Black Ghost from the Magical Millennial Alliance, then, perhaps, she would have had some chance.

With the timeline’s Overall Grade now fluctuating, and its obvious tolerance for higher Floor Contestants and higher Graded Creatures, the Contestants within the Cursed Vaults could use even more of their true strength, despite not truly rising to the 12th Floor level.

Which meant an 8th Floor Contestant like Meg had already struck the bell of doom the moment she had asked Black to assign her such a task.

Of course, Kai had shown her mercy by not giving her the Mission to kill the Contestant.

And, washing her hands in His Majesty’s generously flowing river of mercy, Meg had shamelessly asked for a helping hand.

Shamelessness was something Kai not only practiced himself, but also encouraged in the White Serpent Pirates.

For Meg to fall in line, doing the same, had done nothing but entertain him the most.

Even if she had not asked him for help, Kai had already made up his mind to assist her in some way, lest she truly end up dying in the Forest Vault.

It was all because he knew just what kind of abomination a 12th Floor Contestant could truly be.

After gaining hands-on experience against several of these abominations, Kai had begun to have a good measure of their raw capabilities.

It didn’t matter if their strength was sealed to the 11th or even 10th Floor; the qualitative changes that a Contestant went through while ascending to the 12th Floor couldn’t be sealed by any means.

It was the same for Mang Jian, the Blind Executioner of the 100 Zanpakuto School, who could singlehandedly kill a 12th Floor Contestant, even when he could only use strength equivalent to the 11th Floor.

And that was almost half a year ago.

Even if minutely, the timeline’s overall grade’s limitations would have loosened up a bit more than in Mang Jian’s case.

So, like it or not, the same would be true for the Contestant in the Forest Vault, his strength lingering at the ceiling of the 11th Floor, Kai believed.

That left only one simple way to give Meg the edge she needed.

Meg couldn’t use The Tales of Beedle the Bard because she didn’t meet its Requirements.

However, she could use the Skills associated with the Book’s Characters. In the early days, Kai had made her use Blood Prophecy many times to avoid being surprised by Hastur’s sudden appearance. It was only later, after rejecting The Existence’s request and getting cursed by him, that he began using Blood Prophecy by himself again.

Also, with the upgraded Blood Prophecy, Meg could truly live her quest, instead of getting a blurry idea of the events.

From Kai’s perspective, it would depend on Meg’s intelligence how to make use of such a Prophecy, as, when it came to such Contestants, knowing about their strengths and weaknesses really didn’t mean much.

Surprisingly, Meg had not only come up with a viable plan, but she had also gone beyond that.

And, it had all come down to Meg asking Kai to turn her into an Ephemeral Demon.

In a paradoxical turn of events, after living the series of events that led to her demise, the moment Meg became a Level 3 Ephemeral Demon, she had also gained a Blood Demon Art, giving her the exact edge she had needed —

True Origami!

It only worked for an Origami of herself.

Using this, Meg could enter into a death-like state, transferring her consciousness, in parts or in whole, to the True Origami.

The moment she had entered the Forest Vault, Meg had activated her demonification, playing her greatest trump card.

Also, to make sure that the impossible gains she had seen in the Blood Prophecy came true in reality as well, she hadn’t shared the matter of the Prophecy with the True Origami.

Meanwhile, as the True Origami and others fought against the Beast Waves, Meg used hundreds of thousands of tiny Origamis to search for the Horcrux — her Main Mission’s Objective!

From the beginning to the very end, everything had happened exactly as Meg had planned, making a fool out of the 12th Floor Contestant, living past the moment she had seen herself exploding into a bloody mist in the Blood Prophecy.

It was just...

The Blood Prophecy couldn’t have shown what was happening now, as she had already died. It couldn’t have shown the real 12th Floor Contestant because she had never lived to see him. And, it couldn’t have shown that her excellent plan to fool the enemy might work out against her badly.

With her fingers clutching the edge of the Forest Vault’s door, going through a multitude of emotions, Meg brokenly looked down.

She stared at the bloody lightsaber running through her stomach, finally realizing what Kai had meant when he had said that...

... Blood Prophecy — wasn’t infallible!
