Chapter 1425: Intermission 6: Big Women All Around (4)
While I was still thinking about all of that, Solaris suddenly smiled at me.
"Fufufu, I really like that serious expression you make whenever you’re thinking deeply, Leon," she said, resting her cheek lightly against one hand. "But you don’t have to worry too much right now. Around this time, the United Republic should already be preparing a massive wall to barricade the entire Great Forest. It should at least stop a portion of the monsters from crossing over."
Her tone stayed light, but there was still a trace of concern hidden underneath it.
"Although..." she continued, narrowing her eyes slightly in thought, "I really do wonder how the Demon Lord has been managing to produce so many demonic monsters lately. Some of them even look humanoid."
That definitely sounded like a problem.
At the very least, it was good to know the United Republic wasn’t just sitting around waiting for disaster to happen. Building a barricade around the Great Forest wasn’t exactly a small-scale project either. The amount of manpower and resources needed for something like that had to be ridiculous. Honestly, imagining people trying to build a giant wall while monsters kept trying to tear them apart sounded like the kind of job that would make anyone quit on the first day.
"Wait," I said, looking at her more seriously now. "Did you just say some of them are humanoid?"
"Yes," Solaris replied with a small nod. "They look almost like disfigured humans that were transformed into demons or something close to that. Their bodies are twisted in strange ways, but you can still tell they used to resemble people."
A faint frown appeared on her face.
"And for some weird reason, they’re very powerful too."
"Tell me more about them."
She started explaining what those demons were like. Their characteristics, the kind of physical strength they possessed, and some of the abilities they were capable of using. Some of them apparently retained enough intelligence to fight strategically instead of just acting like mindless beasts.
Hearing all of that honestly surprised me.
Humanoid demons weren’t exactly something people casually talked about anymore. Most people in this era probably only knew about ordinary demonic monsters. The more terrifying humanoid types were mostly buried in old records and stories from the past.
Then again, they used to be normal back during the ancient era.
Back when heroes and demons fought constantly.
Back when the Goddess of War Jeanne still led humanity and personally fought on the battlefield herself.
There were old accounts describing humanoid demons that possessed terrifying levels of strength. Some of them were apparently so dangerous that even Jeanne had difficulty defeating them.
Thinking about those stories now made this entire situation feel a lot worse.
"It’s possible that Satania and the other Seven Deadly Sins are behind this again," Solaris said quietly. "Summoning creatures like these and letting them wander throughout the world was always one of their favorite ways to terrorize people."
She let out a small sigh.
"Honestly, it’s pretty sadistic."
The Seven Deadly Sins, huh...
So they might actually be involved with this.
Well, maybe.
At the same time, I couldn’t say anything with certainty. Getting reliable information about anything happening inside the Demon Continent was already difficult enough. That place was practically impossible to fully understand. Too many hidden areas, too many powerful beings, too many secrets buried where nobody could reach them.
Trying to figure out what was happening over there felt like trying to search for a single coin in the middle of an ocean.
Maybe I should pay Mammon a visit.
It had been a while since she last saw her daughter anyway.
The thought lingered in my head for a moment before another concern resurfaced.
Elise.
I was honestly starting to get worried about her.
She still hadn’t contacted me, even though I’d already tried reaching her multiple times. That wasn’t normal. At this point, it felt less like coincidence and more like something had gone wrong inside the Demon Continent.
A bad feeling slowly settled in my chest.
"By the way, Leon dear..." Solaris suddenly said.
Her voice immediately pulled me out of my thoughts.
I looked at her, only to notice her gaze shifting toward the women standing beside me.
"Do you happen to have a theme today for the kind of women you’re planning to taste or something?"
She looked at me with an openly mischievous grin.
Yeah.
I already knew why she was asking that.
Considering Zes and Meria were standing beside me, Solaris had probably assumed I suddenly developed some kind of preference for tall, muscular women.
Honestly, the grin on her face made it obvious she was enjoying herself way too much.
"I’m planning to have sex with them," I answered casually. "Right after this."
"I see..." Solaris replied slowly.
The way her smile widened made it clear she was having way too much fun imagining that.
Seriously, she looked dangerously close to asking for details.
"Say, Leon..." she continued, leaning forward slightly. "Did you know the Princess of the Giants has taken an interest in you?"
Layla, huh.
I didn’t really need to think deeply about that one.
It was already pretty obvious she was interested in me. A blind person could probably figure that out at this point. Honestly, subtlety had never really been her strong point.
"But..." Solaris continued, resting her chin against her hand, "it’s going to be difficult, right?"
I already didn’t like where this was going.
"You can’t exactly have sex with a giant. Your body’s just too small."
Well, when she said it that bluntly, it sounded kind of ridiculous.
"Although," she added with an amused smile, "I don’t doubt you could still make her feel good because of how big your dick is."
...
That last part was completely unnecessary.
Absolutely unnecessary.
There was a brief moment of silence after she said it too. Zes and Meria were still standing nearby, and Solaris looked way too pleased with herself after casually throwing that sentence into the conversation like it was nothing.
"Your point?" I asked flatly.
Solaris only laughed softly.
Then she reached beneath her desk drawer and grabbed something from inside before placing it on top of the table.
"What’s that?" I asked.
At first glance, it looked like some kind of potion.
The liquid inside the bottle had a strange color to it, and the glass itself looked expensive enough that breaking it would probably make someone cry.
"It’s a potion," Solaris explained while holding it up casually. "I think this might help you have sex with her."
