Bella Acker smiled and shook her head, easing the awkwardness, "He runs his own business, not working outside."

"Oh, I see." Aunt Rhodes smiled and smoothly changed the topic, "Bella, have you had lunch yet? Why don’t we go out for a bite together?"

"I’ve already eaten, Aunt Rhodes. Haven’t you and Bonnie had lunch yet?"

"No." Aunt Rhodes nodded, "We were supposed to wait for Bonnie’s dad... to have lunch together, but he said work isn’t finished yet." She abruptly changed her wording for Bonnie’s dad.

"Then you guys should go eat quickly, don’t let Bonnie go hungry."

Beside them, Bonnie heard Bella Acker mention her and looked up, saying, "Bonnie’s not hungry."

"I just gave him a vanilla cake." Aunt Rhodes laughed.

Bella Acker laughed as well, "Then Bonnie, make sure to tell us if you get hungry."

"Okay." Bonnie nodded and continued playing with his Ultraman.

Later, it seemed Aunt Rhodes might have forgotten about the lunch plan, chatting with Bella Acker until it was past three without noticing. It was only when Bonnie said he was hungry that she realized she would have continued chatting.

However, much of the time, she was asking questions, and Bella Acker was answering. She seemed very interested in Bella Acker’s life.

Bonnie pulled Aunt Rhodes’s hand, saying, "Mom, I’m hungry."

Bella Acker said, "Aunt Rhodes, Bonnie is hungry, you should take him to eat something first, I’m about to leave as well."

"Bella, I’m sorry. I chatted obliviously for so long, did I interfere with any of your plans?" Aunt Rhodes apologized, although from her eyes you could see she actually wanted to keep chatting with Bella Acker.

Bella Acker shook her head, "It’s okay."

"Then... shall we meet up next time?" Aunt Rhodes asked confirmatively.

Bella Acker was a bit puzzled by her careful and hopeful expression, wondering if it was because of familial unhappiness, with no one to talk to apart from taking care of Bonnie?

It seems that many noble ladies indeed don’t live as glamorously as outsiders perceive, especially since Bonnie’s intelligence is lacking, perhaps not being favored by her husband’s family.

Thinking this way, Bella Acker felt Aunt Rhodes was rather pitiable.

"Sure, when I’m on vacation I’ll bring Ethan over to play with Bonnie, they’ll definitely become friends." Bella Acker nodded.

"Great." Aunt Rhodes smiled, subtly signaling to the server to bring the bill.

The server came over, and Bella Acker took out her wallet to pay.

Aunt Rhodes stopped her hand, "Let me do it."

"Aunt Rhodes, I’m the junior here, let me handle it." Bella Acker said, handing the money to the server.

Aunt Rhodes deliberately feigned a stern face, "It’s not right for the elder to let the junior pay." Saying that, she handed the server two hundred notes.

The server looked a bit uncertain about whom to take the payment from.

Aunt Rhodes said, "Take mine, no need to return the change."

"Alright, thank you." The server was happy to receive extra tip money, so he quickly took Aunt Rhodes’s money without hesitation.

Bella Acker helplessly put her money away, "Next time, you must let me treat."

"Okay." Aunt Rhodes nodded with a smile, "I’ll take Bonnie to eat now, see you next time."

"Yes, bye Aunt Rhodes." Bella Acker smiled and gently rubbed Bonnie’s head, "Bye Bonnie."

"Bonnie, say bye to Bella."

"Bye Bella." Bonnie obediently said goodbye.

After parting with them, Bella Acker glanced at the time, and finding it just right, she went to Damian’s company to pick him up after work.
